HI! My friends call me Mac. I hope you do too.
Photography is my passion! It's what I think about any time I have a free moment between raising two amazing boys here at home in Northern Virginia.
Growing up in Washington DC, I was fascinated with this amazing city and all the events and history that is constantly being created in this amazing city. During my teen years, while my friends across the street were coming back home late from some party they attended, I was sneaking out early. Getting up before dawn, biking to the National Mall, trying to catch that magical sunrise over the monuments. Yeah . . . I am that crazy about photography!
Photography is my second act. Thus, I do this because it brings me enormous joy. I enjoy traveling and finding new places and new people to photograph. While I have taken many college classes and formal photography workshops, the best learning has come from actually creating images. I am constantly working on my craft. I love learning from some of the best photographers in the world and I go to wherever they are in the world to find them.

Whenever I see news broadcasts of people hit by devastation -- hurricanes, earthquakes, or anything of the sort -- recovering any photographs is priceless. When people have to be evacuated, among the most irreplaceable possessions they first grab are their photographs and family albums. Photos are important!
I am constantly and continuously learning and evolving. I love to learn!
My biggest goal as a photographer is not only to make you look good, but also to capture that special "something" about you that makes you . . . you.
I don't rush photo shoots. I take the time to get to know you. Get to know, find out what is important to you, and how you want to be eternally memorialized in your images.
I have evolved as a life-style photographer, capturing people in their natural setting, letting life happen under the best light. I don’t rush a photo shoot. I take the time to get to know each person, understand who they are, and what they want from their photos.

This approach, I feel, makes a great difference when photographing kids in particular. Kids need to feel comfortable to be their wonderful selfs and let their personality show.
Working collaboratively with my clients, we set the right conditions, select the setting, the outfits, set the mood, and then we just let life happen.
